Retirement Housing

Our Retirement Complex in Overnewton Street, Glasgow, has 39 homes for rent to residents over the age of 60.

While there are a very small number of two-bedroom properties the flats are mostly one-bedroom, and are all self-contained with their own front door, kitchen, and bathroom. Nearly all of the properties have been medically adapted to have walk-in or wet-floor showers. There are also two wheelchair-ready flats, although all can be accessed via a lift.

We are also exploring increasing the number of flats in the complex in the coming months. Additionally there are a number of guest rooms for family and friends to stay the night. 

A residents group exists within the complex, who plan social events including quizzes, bingo, games nights, dinner events, and bus trips. 

Recent upgrades have seen new furniture, carpets, and decoration within the common areas, and new windows have recently been installed. Yorkhill Housing Association is also exploring innovative heating and energy systems designed to help residents with their bills and boost energy efficiency within the block.

While the block is no longer sheltered housing (there is no on-site warden) a community alarm system is in place to aid tenants.
