Yorkhill's Housing Team Highly Commended

We are delighted to announce that our Housing Management Team was highly commended in the Housing Team of the Year Award at the 2026 SHARE Awards!

This commendation was given in recognition of our Tenancy Support Service, which has made an outstanding contribution to tenant wellbeing, community stability, and innovative service delivery. Our small but dedicated team provides intensive, person‑centred support that prevents crisis, sustains tenancies, and enhances quality of life for some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community.

Every year our tenants receive a 'check-in' from our Tenancy Services Assistant (Cat MacKenzie) allowing us to proactively identify emerging support needs. In addition to this universal service, we conducted multiple weekly or monthly visits to tenants with complex health, financial or social challenges. 

Additionally our Welfare Rights advice service has directly supported tenants to maximise incomes, stabilise budgets, and reduce arrears risk. We also provided:

• Foodbank referrals
• Occupational Therapy referrals
• Social Work referrals
• Reasonable adjustments to improve accessibility and daily living

Our Welfare Rights Officer managed to source over £450,000 of income for our tenants last year. Plus our partner agency the Drumchapel Money Advice Centre gained over £82,500 of income for our tenants.
